The Voice made some big cuts during its first live results episode of Season 17. The Top 20 contestants were narrowed down to the Top 13, meaning that seven artists were sent packing.

Eight contestants were saved thanks to the power of America’s votes. Then, each coach got to pick one of their team members they wanted to save.

The remaining artists were left to compete in the Wildcard Instant Save Round.

Team Kelly‘s Hello Sunday, Team Legend‘s Alex Guthrie, Team Gwen‘s Jake HaldenVang, and Team Blake‘s Gracee Shriver were the contestants who competed in the Wildcard Instant Save. Each one of them performed a song live on the results show, and America had to vote for the winner.

Shriver opted to perform a rock/country staple, “Landslide.” The song was originally recorded by Fleetwood Mac in 1975.

27 years later, the country trio the Dixie Chicks released their rendition of the song. It was a smash success, and claimed the second spot on the Hot Country Songs chart following its release.

With such an extensive legacy behind it, Shriver had a lot to live up to as she sang “Landslide” on The Voice.

The song gave the 16-year-old singer the perfect opportunity to showcase the lower part of her range. She was also able to demonstrate the power of her voice in a few different spots as she held out the notes and let them soar.

Viewers responded to her performance on Twitter, and seemed to enjoy it. “she’s so good, i hope she gets saved,” wrote Twitter user Connor Sherman. See more reactions to her performance below.

But in the end, it was Team Kelly’s Hello Sunday that generated the most votes during the Wildcard Instant Save. Shriver and the others were sent home.
