The Voice Introduced Some Major Changes This Season…
Season 28 has been a season of change for The Voice. The show introduced multiple new rules and elements this season, starting in the blind auditions.
Host Carson Daly got to use his new “Carson Callback” power to give a no-chair turn contestant a second chance during the blind auditions. He used his callback on a young singer named Ryan Mitchell, who managed to land a spot on Team Reba after his second audition.
Another change occurred in the battles, as contestants were allowed to choose their own duet partners. The coaches chose the pairings in previous seasons.
Then, during the knockouts, the coaches demonstrated their new “Mic Drop” buttons. Each coach had the opportunity to press the button for one contestant on their team. Once all four contestants were selected, fans had the power to vote for their favorite.
The Mic Drop winner turned out to be Team Niall’s DEK of Hearts! As their prize, they will get to sing during the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day. They’ll receive this prize even if they don’t win The Voice itself.
Stay tuned for more details about the Season 28 finale of The Voice as they’re announced. We’ll be sure to fill you in!
In the meantime, enjoy the coaches’ collaborative performance of “The Joker” they shared to kick off the season in September.
