In an evening filled with anticipation and top-tier vocal performances, The Voice revealed the Top 9 Live Semi-Finals results.
During Monday night’s episode (May 13), the Top 9 contestants truly put everything on the line, showcasing their heart and talent in a stunning display of vocal prowess.
For “Hometown Week,” each of the Top 9—Nathan Chester, Bryan Olesen, Asher HaVon, Josh Sanders, Maddi Jane, Serenity Arce, Karen Waldrup, Madison Curbelo, and Tae Lewis—stepped onto the stage, ready to pour their souls into their performances. This was their moment to shine, to connect with the audience on a deeply personal level, and to demonstrate why they deserved to advance further in the competition.
From soulful renditions to pop anthems, the diversity of talent was on full display.
Team Legend saw Nathan Chester putting a soulful twist on Otis Redding’s “Try A Little Tenderness,” breathing new life into the classic song.
Bryan Olesen followed with a pitch-perfect version of Phil Collins’s “Against All Odds,” his voice carrying the weight of every note.
Team Reba’s Asher HaVon gave an emotional performance of Beyoncé’s “Irreplaceable,” tapping into the heartfelt story behind the song.
Josh Sanders tackled Chris Stapleton’s “White Horse,” his powerful delivery resonating with the audience.
Over on Team Chance, Maddi Jane had the crowd grooving with a lively rendition of “Greedy” by Tate McRae.
Serenity Arce offered a more intimate performance, stripping back Ariana Grande’s “We Can’t Be Friends” to its raw emotional core.
Team Dan + Shay contributed three memorable performances. Karen Waldrup’s take on “Stay” by Sugarland was a masterclass in country storytelling.
Madison Curbelo’s rendition of “Time After Time” by Cyndi Lauper was both timeless and touching.
The instant save winner, Tae Lewis, stunned with “Amazed” by Lonestar, a performance that undoubtedly secured his spot in the competition.
After witnessing each incredible performance, viewers had the chance to influence the outcome for their favorite artists by casting votes for who they wished to advance to the next round.
The Results Unveiled
Tonight’s episode was a rollercoaster of emotions, showcasing not only the culmination of weeks of hard work for the contestants but also setting the stage for the grand finale.
Four artists were voted through directly by the audience’s votes, leaving five to vie for the Instant Save—a last chance to make it to the finals. Those at risk of elimination had to perform once more, pouring every ounce of their passion and skill into their performances.
In a highly anticipated and thrilling reveal, the first contestants safe and moving on to the finals were announced as Karen Waldrup (Team Dan + Shay), Nathan Chester (Team Legend), Josh Sanders (Team Reba), and Asher HaVon (Team Reba).
The remaining contestants Bryan Oleson (Team Legend), Madison Curbelo (Team Dan +Shay), Tae Lewis (Team Dan + Shay), Serenity Arce (Team Chance), and Maddi Jane (Team Chance) had to perform again for their chance to grab the Instant Save. Following a series of undeniably impressive performances, only one contestant could advance, and that was Bryan Oleson!
