Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have experienced a lot of things worth celebrating lately! On August 31, the CMA announced that McGraw was nominated for Male Vocalist of the Year, and that his empowering single “Humble and Kind” was also nominated for Video of the Year, and Song and Single of the Year.
Beyond McGraw’s CMA nominations, the couple has also been celebrating some huge steps in their two oldest daughters’ lives. Daughter Gracie recently started her second year of college, and Hill just dropped off their middle daughter, Maggie, so she could start her first year of college.
But now, McGraw and Hill have yet another reason to celebrate. On Thursday (September 8), it was announced by Nashville Music City that both McGraw and Hill are set to be the next inductees into the Music City Walk of Fame!
The Music City Walk of Fame was established in Nashville in 2006, and currently has 72 inductees, including Dolly Parton, Alan Jackson, and Elvis Presley. Inductees are chosen for the walk of fame based on their contributions to the Nashville music community and the music industry as a whole.
With 55 number one singles, eight Grammys, and millions of albums sold between them, we couldn’t think of anyone else more deserving of such an honor than McGraw and Hill. Clearly, Nashville Mayor Megan Barry felt the same, as she spoke highly of the country couple’s careers:
“Faith Hill and Tim McGraw both came to Nashville in the 1980s with big dreams and huge talent. Driven by their determination and a lot of hard work, they eventually found great success – and each other. Tim and Faith have made a big difference in our city, not only with their music but also with their generous contributions to many important causes. They deserve to join the many other incredible artists on the Music City Walk of Fame, and I’m looking forward to their induction.”
Once inducted, McGraw and Hill will become the 73rd and 74th artists to receive stars on the Walk of Fame. They will both be honored during an induction ceremony on October 5th, which will take place at 11:30 AM in the Walk of Fame Park.
A huge congratulations to McGraw and Hill on this great honor!
