Although Miranda Lambert didn’t win a Grammy this year for her critically-acclaimed double album The Weight of These Wings, she has been shown lots of love from country music awards.

She won Album of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year at 2017’s ACM Awards, as well as Female Vocalist of the Year at last year’s CMA Awards. The album and single “Tin Man” were nominated for three other awards.

A lot of people have been wondering how she could possibly follow up an album as epic and personal as The Weight of These Wings, and in a recent radio interview, she revealed that she’s super excited about what’s to come.

“I don’t know when or what. I just feel this energy and this excitement about what’s coming next,” she said, according to CMT. “[The Weight of These Wings] just almost honestly gave me more strength to go, ‘Alright. I got through that. I’m happy, let’s move on.’”

She’s ready to move on, and from the looks – and sound – of it, she’s ready to move on with her best girls, the Pistol Annies!  In a cryptic Instagram post on January 25, Lambert shared a photo of a pad of paper, a pen, a glass of wine, and her guitar, with the caption, “I sing (and write ….and drink) in the shower.”

While that might be a normal caption for Lambert, the hashtags made it more telling. She wrote, “#MaybePistolAnnies.”

In the radio interview, Lambert did admit that getting the Pistol Annies back together may take some time, but they are all still on the same page musically.

“Literally the other night I had a song that kind of just came out of the air to me, and I sent a verse and a chorus to the girls. And nobody said anything. Not, ‘Hi, how you doing’,” she said. “I sent them half a song, and then within three minutes, I had a whole song. They both sent me a verse back. And I was, ‘And, we’re back’.”

We aren’t sure just how long we will have to wait to hear the trio’s new music, but Lambert, Ashley Monroe, and Angaleena Presley are planning to use this year to write music together.

We’re very much in the spirit of the Annies right now,” Lambert said.
