Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton have been friends for years. That’s why their sibling-like rivalry on The Voice seems so authentic…because they’ve known each other forever!
Clarkson joined The Voice during Season 14, and has been on the show ever since. She has won three times so far.
As for Shelton, he’s been on The Voice from the beginning. He holds the record for the most wins, with a total of eight.
Shelton’s last win was during Season 20. He seems well-poised to win Season 21 as well, because he has some talented singers on his team.

On Tuesday night (November 16) the Voice‘s Top 13 were reduced to the Top 11. Team Ariana’s Ryleigh Plank and Team Legend’s Shadale were eliminated after losing the Instant Save vote. Team Kelly’s Gymani won the vote after performing “Sweet Love.”
Shelton was the only coach who didn’t have an artist in the Instant Save round. All three of his team members (Wendy Moten, Paris Winningham, and Lana Scott) were saved by America’s votes.
This was obviously a relief to Shelton. In true form, he teased Clarkson about his team’s good fortune.
“Oh you know just bragging to @KellyClarkson how Team Blake had NO artists in the instant save!!!” Shelton wrote on social media next to a photo he shared of him and Clarkson talking to each other.

Shelton had a good reason to be “bragging.” His team is on a roll this season!
