Excitement is at an all-time high in the country music community. And that’s because one of its superstar artists just announced the news that fans have waited years to hear.
Luke Combs is arguably the biggest thing in country music right now. The newly inducted Opry member is shattering records left and right, and also sells out shows everywhere he goes.
Most recently, Combs had his sixth single, “Beer Never Broke My Heart,” top the Country Airplay chart the same week his debut album, This One’s for You, celebrated its 44th week at the top of the Top Country Albums chart. By remaining in the #1 spot for that long, the album broke a 31-year-old record previously held by Randy Travis.
Now, Combs holds the record for the most weeks at number one on the Top Country Albums chart by a male artist. He also is just seven weeks behind Shania Twain‘s overall record for the most weeks spent at #1 on that chart.

What makes the success of This One’s for You all the more remarkable is the fact that the album was released over two years ago…in June 2017.
So as you would expect, fans have been anxious to hear any news about a second album from Combs. He managed to keep everyone satisfied with a five-song EP titled The Prequel, which was released in June 2019 and contains “Beer Never Broke My Heart.”
Still, fans couldn’t help but long for a sophomore record from Combs. Every time he teased a big announcement, fans maintained hope that he would be revealing the release date for a new record.
In the past, such teases usually led to tour announcements. But when Combs recently started teasing a big announcement to come on Thursday (August 8), fans had a good feeling it was the album news they had been waiting for.
Sure enough, it was.
With just four words, Combs sent the country music community into a frenzy. His simple post read “New album. November 8.“

While he didn’t share his sophomore record’s title or track list, the little bit of information he did share was enough to satisfy fans. Now they know they only have to wait a few months before they’ll have a new record of Combs’ in their hands.
