Luke Grimes, Who Plays Kayce Dutton On Yellowstone, Is Also A Country Singer
You most likely know Luke Grimes from his iconic role on the hit Western television show Yellowstone. Grimes plays Kayce Dutton, the son of the show’s patriarch, John Dutton, played by Kevin Costner.
What you might not know is that Grimes is a prolific musician. He released his first original single, “No Horse to Ride,” in December 2022. Since his original release, Grimes has been busy releasing multiple singles and a self-titled debut album in 2024.
The Yellowstone actor only started releasing music as a solo artist in the last few years, but he has had musical dreams for much longer than that. Before his acting stardom, Grimes was a drummer in a Los Angeles-based country band called Mitchells Folly.
In recent years, his song “Hold On” has gained him notoriety in the music scene and has racked up over 20 million streams on Spotify. Grimes signed with Universal Music Group Nashville in 2024.

Lukes Grimes Gears Up For His Grand Ole Opry Debut
Grimes shared a post on his Instagram stating the exciting news that he would be making his Grand Ole Opry debut in November. In his caption, Grimes shared:
“It’s hard to explain what an honor it is to be making my @opry debut. To be able to step into that circle and to feel like I am part of a community of my heroes is beyond a dream come true.”
