Country singer-songwriter Ashley Monroe had some big news to share with her fans on Christmas last year. Taking to Instagram, the “I Don’t Want To” singer announced that she and her husband, John Danks, were expecting their first child together.
“Best present ever,” Monroe wrote in a caption to a ultrasound photo. “Merry Christmas everyone.. so many new things coming in 2017!!“

A few months later, Monroe posed in a teeny-tiny bikini to show off her baby bump. She also took the opportunity to reveal that she was expecting a boy! The blue banner and ribbons behind her in the photo gave the news away, but Monroe couldn’t help but express her excitement in the caption as well.
“It’s a BABY BOY!! A big one I have a feeling,” Monroe wrote.

Finally, Monroe was happy to announce on Friday (August 4) that she and Danks had welcomed their darling baby boy! Monroe shared a series of photos to celebrate the happy news, one of which shows her and Danks cuddling with their son in the hospital. Another photo shows Danks holding their son, while another focuses solely on the new baby.
So what did Monroe and Danks decide on as a name for their little guy? As Monroe revealed, his full name is Dalton William Danks. “Welcome to the world, love of my life,” she wrote.

Other than becoming a new mama, Monroe has more exciting things in store for her future. As her friend and fellow Pistol Annies bandmate Miranda Lambert revealed in a recent interview, the group is aiming to release a new album in 2018. Fans loved their previous songs, such as “Hush Hush,” so we’re sure the new album will be a big hit!
