Dancing with the Stars has had their fair share of celebrities grace the dance floor – it’s been on the air for over a decade now!

Over the past 31 seasons, we’ve seen countless football players, actors, actresses, and singers compete for the coveted mirrorball trophy, but only a few of those singers have represented the country genre.

The singers who have represented the country music genre did a pretty darn good job at that! With the 31st season of DWTS about to end, we thought it’d be fun to go down memory lane a take a look at the ten country stars who traded in their cowboy boots for dancing shoes!

1. Wynonna

The five-time Grammy winner has had over 20 hit singles and sold over 20 million records as a solo artist and as a member of The Judds, but in 2013, she competed on the show with professional partner Tony Dovolani.

She was eliminated second during the 16th season.

2. Chuck Wicks

The “Stealing Cinderella” singer and famous radio show, America’s Morning Show, co-host competed on Season 8. His partner was then-girlfriend Julianne Hough and placed 6th.

3. Billy Ray Cyrus

In 2007, 90s country heartthrob and Hannah Montana star Billy Ray Cyrus joined the popular competition show. He placed fifth with partner Karina Smirnoff.

4. Sara Evans

In 2006, the ACM’s reigning Top Female Vocalist Sara Evans competed on the 3rd season of Dancing With The Stars. She ended up withdrawing from the competition during week 6 to be with her kids after filing for divorce from her husband. Who knows how far she could have gotten in the competition, but she definitely made the right choice to be there for her kids.

5. Jana Kramer

The “I Got The Boy” singer competed on the 23rd season and made a fabulous debut! She and her partner, Gleb Savchenko, danced a steamy Viennese Waltz. She made it all the way to the finals before being eliminated, placing 4th.

6. Kellie Pickler

Season 16 had twice the country when Wynonna and Kellie Pickler joined the cast. While Wynonna was eliminated in Week Two, Pickler went on to win the entire thing! She and partner Derek Hough remained “the ones to beat” from their very first performance together.

7. John Schneider

The Dukes of Hazzard star dusted off his cowboy boots for Season 26 with pro partner Emma Slater. The actor also had a string of country hits throughout the 80s, including “It’s Now Or Never” and “You’re The Last Thing I Needed Tonight.”

He placed 7th.

8. Bobby Bones

Okay, so he’s not a country star, but he is considered “the most powerful man in country music,” with the largest country music radio show in the nation. He was partnered with Sharna Burgess and although he was considered the underdog all season, he ended up wining Season 26!

For Season 28, “What Ifs” singer competed alongside Gleb Savchenko. They made it all the way to the finals and placed fourth, receiving their only perfect scores in the freestyle round.

9. Jimmie Allen

Jimmie Allen was eliminated from the 30th season of DWTS with his pro partner Emma Slater on November 8, 2021. They were the 9th couple eliminated from the competition series. Jimmie often showed his emotional side, often crying after his performances. This made fans love him even more!

10. Jessie James Decker

Jessie James Decker signed on for Season 31 and was partnered with pro Alan Bersten. They were eliminated in Week Seven.

(Honorary) Priscilla Presley

Even though she is not a country singer, she is music royalty having been married to the late, great Elvis Presley. She was paired with Louis van Amstel for Season 6 in 2008. She was the fifth person eliminated, but she gave a good fight, even topping the leaderboard in the early weeks.
