Almost exactly two years after a stunning Voice standout and soulful country singer dropped jaws with her unique take on “You Are My Sunshine” – another South Carolina native has shown that history repeats itself.
In 2017, Ashland Craft scored a three-chair turn on The Voice with her killer rendition of this classic song and later went on to compete all the way through the live shows on Team Miley.
Very similar to Ashland, young Brennan Lassiter blew away all four of the judges on 2019’s fall season of The Voice with a similar take on the same song. In fact, we were getting flashbacks the whole time – and she deserved every bit of praise the coaches gave her!
20-year-old Lassiter ended up picking Team Kelly over Team Blake – just as Ashland had done back in 2017.
