Gwen Stefani appeared on Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night talk show on Thursday where she talked about her wedding to Blake Shelton. But, fans were quick to notice that the singer showed up for the interview minus a wedding ring.
Stefani addressed her bare ring finger to Kimmel and explained that it was a simple mistake.
“I forgot to wear my ring. It’s like the first time!” Stefani said laughing. “I was like, ‘Okay, I’m going to put it in the jewelry cleaner, so Jimmy sees how sparkly and amazing my ring is and then hello empty finger.’”
Despite her good intentions, Stefani was running late and forgot to put the ring back on. During her interview, she apologized to her hubby of nearly 9 months and let everyone know that she adores him and was embarrassed that she forgot her wedding ring.
“I’m so embarrassed! I’m sorry, Blakey. I love my husband, and I love being married to him. It’s just the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me, so here we are.”
The former No Doubt front woman even took to Instagram following her late-night appearance to reiterate the reason behind her bare ring finger and to apologize to Shelton.
“I was running a little late to come to Jimmy Kimmel tonight and ran out of the house without my wedding ring on. Of course, all we talked about was the wedding. So, that happened tonight. I’m sorry Blake!”

Gwen’s appearance with Jimmy Kimmel was her first since her July 2021 wedding to Blake Shelton, so the talk show host was excited to get some inside information about the nuptials. Kimmel asked the new bride why she and Shelton asked Carson Daly to officiate their ceremony.
“Basically, we didn’t know who was gonna marry us…” Gwen said. “We knew we wanted it to be intimate…and I just had the idea of Carson because he’s the one person that we both know so well, and we’ve known through the years.”

Stefani added that it was important to them for someone in their “spiritual circle” to officiate and Daly shares Gwen’s catholic faith.
“He was gonna be a priest at one point. He’s catholic,” Stefani said. “He is an amazing guy. I love him. He’s such a good dad…a family guy.”
