Joanna Gaines’ rep is putting an end to tabloid rumors that the Fixer Upper: Welcome Home power couple have a feud with Home Town stars Erin and Ben Napier.
Rumor of conflict between the two reality couples began after OK! Magazine spoke with an anonymous insider and published a report on Thursday. According to the publication’s source, Chip and Joanna are “feeling the heat” from Ben and Erin’s growing popularity on HGTV.

“Both couples are fiercely competitive. The comparisons bug them to no end,” the publication’s anonymous source stated.
The insider claimed that HGTV executives tried to find a “carbon copy” of Chip and Joanna after the pair decided to leave HGTV and launch their Magnolia Network. The source noted that Ben and Erin also recently opened businesses in Mississippi, which are comparable to the Gaines’ popular ventures in Waco, TX. The source explained:
“It irritates Chip and Jo to see Erin and Ben copying everything they do. Jo particularly wishes Erin would stop ridiculing her minimalist design with her own cluttered grand millennial style.”

Following Ok! Magazine’s interview with the insider, Joanna’s rep quickly responded via Gossip Cop and ended further speculation of conflict between the two couples. Joanna’s representative stated:
“The ‘rivalry’ these ‘sources’ speak of is literally non-existent. Chip and Joanna adore Ben and Erin, and have nothing but respect and admiration for the work that they do. They’re friends, actually, and any reports inferring otherwise are completely false. This is a non-story.”
