In December 2019, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani released their third duet. Titled “Nobody But You,” the song was included as one of the new tracks on Shelton’s compilation album Fully Loaded: God’s Country.

“Nobody But You” was an instant success, and debuted at the ninth spot on the Hot Country Songs chart. It eventually became a #1 hit in 2020, making it Stefani’s first #1 country song.

The song experienced further success following the release of its PDA-filled music video and a live performance at the Grammys. Sales of the song surged 91% after that performance, as Billboard reported.

As you would expect, the popularity of “Nobody But You” has inspired many cover versions. Some of our favorite renditions are ones between real-life couples, such as American Idol alums Gabby Barrett and Cade Foehner.

Barrett and Foehner met during Season 16 of Idol. They were some of the season’s most successful contestants, with Barrett placing third and Foehner having been a member of the Top 5 before his elimination.

The two fell in love during their time on the show, and eventually married on October 5, 2019.

Barrett and Foehner have taken part in many romantic collaborations and have even appeared in each other’s music videos. So when they heard Shelton and Stefani’s new duet take off, they felt it was the perfect song for them to cover.

The couple uploaded a short clip of themselves singing “Nobody But You” to social media. With nothing but the sound of Foehner’s acoustic guitar to back them up, they poured heart and soul into the song that’s all about love, longing, and devotion.

After facing forward for most of the performance, Barrett and Foehner turn to each other toward the end. The way they look at one another will melt your heart!

You can watch Barrett and Foehner sing “Nobody But You” in the video below.

When Barrett uploaded the video on Instagram, Foehner commented, “I’m so blessed to sing with you. You are the best singer in the world.” Now how sweet is that?
