In June 2018, Chip and Joanna Gaines welcomed their fifth child, a baby boy they named Crew. The little guy joined his two big brothers Duke and Drake, and his two big sisters Ella Rose and Emmie Kay.
It’s hard to believe it, but little Crew is now one year old! Joanna shared some previously seen and some never-before-seen photos from his birthday to celebrate the milestone.
“One year ago. What a gift you are to all of us sweet boy,” she wrote in the caption accompanying the photos.

Even though the Gaines family wrapped up their hit show Fixer Upper before Crew was born, they’ve still had their hands full. They’ve worked on their decor collection, run a restaurant, and started plans to establish their own TV network, just to name a few things.
With such a busy schedule, it’s easy to understand why Chip and Jo had to wait a few weeks before they were able to throw a first birthday party for Crew. But based on the pictures Joanna had to share, we’d say the wait was worth it!
The little one was fittingly thrown a nautical themed party (we assume because a ship has a “crew”). Decorations included paper ships with different colored sails, a sign reading “Happy Birthday Crew We Love You,” and colored buoys with “Crew Is 1” printed on them.
Crew’s single birthday candle was placed in the center of a frosted cake, which he later dove into with his full face. You can see that adorable picture last in the below slideshow that Joanna shared.

Chip also took the time to share a couple of pictures from his son’s first birthday party. It seems like Chip enjoyed that yummy-looking cake just as much as Crew!

Isn’t it crazy to see how fast Crew has grown in just a year’s time?
We hope Crew had a fun first birthday. We can’t wait to watch him grow as the years continue to fly by.
