Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani first met in 2014 when Gwen signed on to serve as a coach for the seventh season of The Voice. Blake was also a coach, and had been with the series from the start.
At the time, both Blake and Gwen were married (he to Miranda Lambert, her to Gavin Rossdale). They were nothing more than friends during that first season of The Voice they coached together.
But a year later, both of the stars’ marriages had ended. Gwen returned to The Voice to coach its ninth season, and began to bond with Blake over their shared heartache.
The couple went public with their relationship in November 2015. They went on to release four duets together, including the number one country hits “Nobody but You” and “Happy Anywhere.” They’ve also coached three additional seasons of The Voice together (seasons 12, 17, and 19).
After five years of dating, the duo got engaged in October 2020. They spent the next several months planning their wedding, which occurred on July 3, 2021.
The wedding was held on Blake’s property in Oklahoma. TODAY reports that only 40 guests were in attendance, including Voice host Carson Daly and his family.
Carson also served as the officiant during Blake and Gwen’s ceremony.

“…so honored to get to marry two of my favorite people on earth. May God bless you guys in this new chapter of your lives. We love you!” Carson wrote alongside some photos taken at the wedding.
The Voice itself also celebrated Blake and Gwen’s marriage by reposting a few of their wedding photos.
“This is our royal wedding. Congrats to @gwenstefani and @blakeshelton on tying the knot,” the show wrote alongside one photo.

The Voice also shared the photo that shows Carson and Blake watching Gwen walk down the aisle.
“When your best friend officiates the wedding of your other best friend who is marrying your other other best friend and it’s all…” the show wrote along with three crying emojis.
Fellow Voice coach John Legend commented on one of the posts with a bunch of hearts. The Kelly Clarkson Show account commented on both pictures with hearts and other emojis to show how emotional the news of Blake and Gwen’s wedding made them (and presumably, Kelly Clarkson herself).
The Voice‘s posts about Blake and Gwen’s wedding also received comments from former Voice contestants such as Carter Rubin, The Swon Brothers, Todd Tilghman, and Meghan Linsey.
