As a promising preview, the duo has officially released the first single from the album. Lainey Wilson joins Brooks & Dunn to revamp their 2005 hit “Play Something Country.”
This collaboration with Wilson breathes new life into the high-energy track originally from Brooks & Dunn’s Hillbilly Deluxe record. The Louisiana native, who recently celebrated the grand opening of her Nashville bar, adds a fresh perspective while maintaining the essence of the original.

In a press release, Kix Brooks praised Wilson’s performance. He noted she added a distinctive “Louisiana swagger” that only she could bring to the table.
“Lainey was one of the first artists to get in the studio with us for this project,” he shared. “She came head-to-toe in flames, bell-bottoms and all…This was a fun one!”
For Lainey Wilson, this opportunity held special significance.
Growing up listening to Brooks & Dunn’s music, Wilson expressed deep admiration for the duo’s influence on her career.
“I don’t know anybody in this town, in this generation of country music, who could say that these guys are not influences on what they do,” she said, “They were the soundtrack to my childhood, so I was excited to make some magic with them.”
